HARMONY CLUB DOLL STORY WRITING ENTRY-ME, BY FELICITY MERRIMAN

Harmony Club Dolls - Story Writing Entry for Doll Giveaway Contest

This story is written by Felicity Merriman, age 11 3/4. She is an American Girl Doll.

Hi, my name is Felicity. I have red hair and bright green eyes. I am entering the Harmony Dolls Story contest. I would love a little sister. My entry is called, “Me.”

This is a story about me.  One thing you probably don’t know about me is that I love nature. My sister Natalie and I love to go hiking together.

I also love anything and everything about horses. I don’t actually have one, but I have ridden before and love it. My sister says I have a gift with horses. When I’m around them they’re calm. They make me calm too.

I don’t only love horses. I am good with most animals. My sister and I have a pet turtle, and a dog. Once when I was hiking a little lizard crawled up my arm. It tickled!

I also love poetry. I have lots of books of poetry and write a few myself too. I like poetry because you can express yourself and it’s fun too.
Have you ever been rock climbing? I went once. It was super fun. I didn’t climb actual rocks though. Just a wooden wall with little green pegs stuck all over it.

The last thing I want you to know about me is that I have a big sister named Natalie. She’s 12 and I love her very much. I’d love a little sister though too, then I would be a big sister and a little sister. And that’s the story about me.

  1. This is a very nicely written story Felicity. You are very talented girl and with all your interests I think you would have lots of good things and care to share with a younger sister. With all the things you like to do; I would think you would never run out of great stories to tell a younger sister. I would think; she would love to have a sister who is interested in writing and animals and reading and writing and hiking; and every girl should have an older sister who writes poetry and has a happy attitude, like yours and shares it with everyone. Nicely done young Felicity. I hope all your dreams come true. Your story was very well told and while this is a contest and everyone has a fair chance. I think you should know; You are very accomplished and your goal is true. You wrote and produced a very compelling story. Well done.
